ABOUT

I am an oil painter specializing in erotic surrealism, whose journey from photography to multidisciplinary art was deepened by a personal experience of sexual assault. My mission is to normalize sexual education and psychology through bold, liberating art that delves into themes of intimacy. My work blends surrealism and abstraction seamlessly, creating optical illusions that provoke thought on uncomfortable issues. Drawing from diverse inspirations, each piece explores morbid and sexual curiosities grounded in extensive research. As a black woman, sex worker, and sexual assault survivor, every stroke is purposeful, aiming to spark authentic conversations about sexuality.
Johnson’s art boldly confronts themes of sexual education, feminine pleasure, and psychological complexity. Her signature style combines surrealist elements with erotic undertones, crafting works that challenge societal taboos while inviting viewers to engage in self-reflection. Each painting serves as a personal diary, revealing subconscious emotions and memories that are as cathartic for Johnson to create as they are evocative for her audience to interpret.
Through her art, Johnson aspires to normalize open conversations about sexuality and mental health, aiming to dissolve the shame and stigma often associated with these topics. Her work is not just a medium of self-expression but a bridge between the deeply personal and the universally relatable. With each brushstroke, she liberates herself while encouraging her audience to truly see and feel the stories embedded within her creations. By embracing vulnerability and boldness, Johnson’s art becomes a testament to resilience, empowerment, and the transformative power of creativity.
