The Center of Attention explores the complex tension between identity and objectification. Swirling body parts encircle a woman trapped in the center, symbolizing the feeling of being ensnared within one’s own skin. This piece reflects on how women are often reduced to mere spectacles, sexualized and scrutinized without a deeper understanding of who they truly are. Through this visual metaphor, the painting calls attention to the inner conflict of being both seen and unseen, of existing as a person while being consumed by external perceptions.
